Conservation of nature is actually about people: as far as Life on Earth is concerned, humans are a big problem, but we are also part of the solution - we have to be.
Effective communication is vital if we are to achieve this. Science and policy are fundamental for conservation to happen, but they are not enough: humans are emotional beings. We need to feel, not just know.
That is where cartoons come in. Like any art form, cartoons have the magical ability to touch people in a way even the best reports and scientific papers cannot.
